Rococo chest of drawers with secretary compartment in walnut and walnut burl, veneered on oak and wood, carved, painted and gilded. Three-sided cambered, smooth body on a leaf-relief frame and flared feet. The compartmentalised front with three drawers and a pull-out and hinged secretary compartment. Slightly recessed top, flanked by bevelled corner pilaster strips. Faceted mirror insert in the door, surrounded by lavish rocailles in relief. Curved, ascending cornice with moulded pediment and eagle finial. H. 249 cm. 114 cm x 52 cm.
Provenance: from the Michahelles Collection, Hamburg, which has grown over generations.
