The name of the Rolex Day-Date explains its two main functions – the date under the Cyclops lens and the large window for the day of the week at 12 o'clock. This Rolex timepiece is the double quick set model, meaning the date and day wheel can be changed independently. The Rolex Day-Date is also known as the "Rolex President". Whereas other models such as Datejust, Submariner and Daytona are available in stainless steel too, the Day-Date was only ever produced in gold or platinum. Die Rolex Day-Date wird auch als "Rolex President" bezeichnet. Während andere Rolex-Uhren wie Datejust, Submariner und Daytona auch in Edelstahl angeboten werden, gab es die Day-Date nie als Stahluhr, sondern nur in Gold oder Platin.
