ROMAN BRONZE FIGURINE OF HOWLING DOG
Ca. AD 1 - 300.
A cast bronze figure of a seated dog, the slender body drawn upward with the back arched and the muzzle lifted vertically. The head is narrow and elongated, with a pointed snout and small conical ears set high on the skull. The mouth is slightly open, as if howling. Set on an integral rectangular base.
