ROMAN BRONZE GLADIUS-SHAPED AMULET. Ca. AD 1 - 300. A bronze amulet in the form of a gladius with a narrow, tapering blade that ends in a pointed tip. A circular perforation is positioned slightly below the midpoint. The hilt is defined by a raised guard with horizontal ridges and a short, cylindrical grip. The pommel is rounded and slightly domed, projecting outward from the grip. Size: 41.9mm x 7.3mm; Weight: 4.70g Provenance: Private UK collection; previously acquired on the Holland art market in the 1990s.
