ROMAN BRONZE LEGIONARY FIGURE OF AN EAGLE STANDING OVER A FALLEN DEER Ca. AD 1 - 200. A cast bronze figure depicting an eagle with wings folded, and head turned slightly to one side, standing atop the body of a fallen deer. The bird’s talons rest firmly on the animal’s back, which is shown with legs drawn under the body and head thrown upward. Mounted on a modern stand.
