ROMAN BRONZE RAM-SHAPED PATERA HANDLE Ca. AD 1 - 200. A cast bronze handle terminating in a ram’s head with curling horns and a narrow, tapering snout. The cylindrical shaft is decorated with parallel flutes along its length, bordered by raised collars at both ends, and ending in a broad, flat terminal for attachment. For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number 102478. Size: 50mm x 140mm; Weight: 180g Provenance: Private UK collection; previously acquired on the Holland art market in the 1990s.
