ROMAN BRONZE STATUETTE OF ZEUS Ca. AD 100 - 300. A Roman bronze statuette of a nude Zeus depicted as a mature man with a muscular physique, shoulder-length hair, and a beard. The sculptor captured the deity in a classic contrapposto pose and with his right hand raised, perhaps once holding his signature lightning. The figure presents an idealised idea of human anatomy, delineating the finest of details. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Accession Number 07.286.93. Size: 65mm x 25mm; Weight: 36g.
