ROMAN BRONZE WINGED CUPID FIGURINE.
Ca. AD 100 - 300. A cast bronze figurine depicting Cupid in dynamic contrapposto, striding forward with his right arm extended and his left arm trailing behind. The youthful body is rendered with anatomical precision, and the facial features are framed by deeply incised, wavy hair surmounted by a topknot. A short cloak is draped diagonally across the back, fastened at the waist and falling in pointed folds. Two small wings project from the shoulder blades.
