ROMAN CARNELIAN INTAGLIO DEPICTING MINERVA IN VICTORIAN HIGH KARAT GOLD RING Ca. AD 100 - 300. A hexagonal carnelian intaglio depicting the goddess Minerva standing and holding a spear in her right hand and a shield in her left. She is dressed in her characteristic helmet made in a stylised manner typical of the beginning of the second century. The gem is set in a high-carat Victorian gold openwork ring with a hexagonal bezel and a round hoop. The shoulders are adorned with two Volutes and a gold pellet on each side.
