ROMAN COIN DIE WITH VESPASIAN Ca. AD 69 - 79 A bronze coin die with an iron core, engraved with two capricorns back to back, supporting a circular shield inscribed SC, with a globe below, all within a beaded border. Accompanied by a bronze coin bearing the same reverse design, with the obverse depicting the deified Vespasian, encircled by a beaded border and inscribed DIVVS AVGVSTVS VESPASIANVS. Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex. Private collection 1970s-1990s.
