ROMAN GLASS INFUNDIBULUM (LAMP FILLER) Ca. AD 100 - 200. A free-blown glass flask with an apple-shaped lower body and a long, cylindrical neck that ends in a flared mouth with a thick, pronounced rim. The base is flattened with a slight central recess, and a small protruding spout emerges from the shoulder. This type of vessel, known as an infundibulum, was used to pour oil into lamps.
