ROMAN GOLD RING WITH CARNELIAN INTAGLIO DEPICTING SOL INVICTUS.

A gold ring with a broad hoop, flat within and rounded without, widening at the shoulders into openwork scroll plaques beneath a bezel plate. A carnelian intaglio is set in a plain upright collet and engraved with the left-facing head of Sol Invictus, crowned by a radiate diadem of long rays.
