ROMAN HIGH KARAT GOLD HIGH KARAT SCROLL PENDANT WITH GREEK INSCRIPTION.
Ca. AD 1 - 50 A gold scroll pendant formed as a hollow polygonal tubular case with domed end caps, projecting knob finials, moulded collars, and two triple-ribbed attachment rings on the upper side for suspension. One face is decorated with a short Greek inscription above a wavy beaded border, with dense clusters of granules at each terminal. Size: 11.9mm x 35.4mm; Weight: 6.29g. Provenance: Private London collection; previously with F.A., Brussels; Belgian collection formed between the early 1970s to the early 1990s.
