ROMAN HIGH KARAT GOLD RING WITH GARNET INTAGLIO DEPICTING FLYING VICTORY Ca. AD 100 - 300. An oval garnet intaglio engraved with the figure of Victory in motion, advancing to the left, her wings extended behind. She holds a wreath in her left hand and a palm branch in her right. The stone is set in a plain oval bezel with a raised edge, flanked by applied gold pellets. The hoop is flat and broad, tapering slightly towards the back.
