ROMAN HIGH KARAT GOLD RING WITH 'OMONOIA' INSCRIPTION AND PALM BRANCH. Ca. AD 1 - 200 A gold ring made from a broad flat sheet band with tapering sides and an expanded rectangular front. The principal panel is engraved with the Greek inscription 'OMONOIA' arranged in three lines above a horizontally placed palm branch in the lower field. Size: D:17.12mm / US: 6 3/4 / UK: N; Weight: 3.8g. Provenance: Private London collection; previously part of an early 2000s UK ancient art collection; formerly in the collection of G.M., prior to 1996.
