ROMAN HIGH KARAT GOLD RING WITH RED GARNET INTAGLIO DEPICTING A NOBLEWOMAN. Ca. AD 50 - 200. A tapering gold ring with a hoop of near-circular section, mounted with a small oval gold collet with a narrow raised rim, set with a garnet intaglio engraved with a female bust in left profile, the hair arranged in horizontal bands bound with a fillet, a lock falling behind the neck.
