ROMAN INTAGLIO WITH A BIRD AND A FISH UNDER A STAR IN SILVER RING Ca. AD 100 - 200. An oval carnelian intaglio engraved with a bird facing left, wings half-raised, above a long-bodied fish shown horizontally, with an eight-pointed star in the field. The gem is set in a possibly later silver ring with an oval bezel, tapering shoulders, and a solid hoop.
