ROMAN LIMESTONE HEAD DEPICTING BARBARIAN
Ca. AD 300 - 400. A striking head of a Barbarian warrior with a head of wavy, unruly hair, a signal that the artist is intending to show a barbarian from outside of the Roman Empire. Size: 50mm x 25mm; Weight: 70g. Provenance: Private London collection, acquired on the US art market; Ex. NYC collection; Ex. F. F., NYC, pre 2000.
