The head has features that represent a private individual from the provinces of the Roman Empire. It dates to the latest period of the Severan Dynasty. His hair is short, divided in the centre, and made with the drill technique. His beard is large and also made using the same technique. The eyes are open with almond-shaped and round pupils. The hairstyle and beard connect the subject to the Eastern part of the Empire.
