ROMAN SILVER HAIR PIN WITH AN EAGLE.
Ca. AD 100 - 300.
A silver hair pin with a long, slender shaft gradually tapering to a sharp point. The opposite end features a cap with a series of incised horizontal grooves. Resting atop the cap is an eagle with outstretched wings and its head facing forward. The body is defined with subtle contours, and the legs are positioned straight, firmly standing on the grooved cap.
