ROMAN TERRACOTTA OIL LAMP WITH EROTIC SCENE Ca. AD 40 - 100. A mould made terracotta lamp of Loeschcke type IV with plain shoulder and volutes flanking a rounded nozzle. The discus depicts an erotic scene, with the filling hole positioned in the lower part. The concave base is framed by a circular groove and is inscribed with the maker’s name. For similar see: C. S.
