ROMANO-EGYPTIAN MOSAIC GLASS INLAY WITH A MASK OF THE BROTHEL KEEPER - EX. CHRISTIE'S. Ca. 100 BC - AD 100. A circular mosaic glass inlay with a mask of the Brothel Keeper on an opaque red ground, with yellow for the face, the almond-shaped eyes with black pupils surrounded by blue, black and white, and some red at the outer corners, details of the ears and nose in black, the mouth dark purple surrounded by red, the beard and moustache with white embedded in pale blue, wearing a wreath of ivy leaves and flower clusters, the leaves green or bluish-green, the flower clusters green and yellow.
