ROMANO-EGYPTIAN MOSAIC GLASS INLAY WITH NILOTIC BIRD. Ca. 100 BC - AD 100. A rectangular glass inlay with a Nilotic bird in profile on a black ground, depicted with an opaque white breast, a yellow, green, and red cap, a black-rimmed eye, and a beak in yellow and red. The face is turquoise blue, with yellow and turquoise tail and body feathers, a dark blue wing, and yellow legs. The composition is framed within an opaque reddish glass border.
