ROMANO-EGYPTIAN TERRACOTTA OIL LAMP WITH HARPOCRATES ON RAM.
Ca. AD 200 - 300. A mouldmade terracotta oil lamp, Loeschcke Type VIII, with a rounded body tapering into a short nozzle. The raised circular rim encloses the discus, which depicts Harpocrates seated on a ram, holding a cornucopia in his left hand. A garland-like motif runs along the edge of the scene. A small lug extends from the rear and the underside bears a stamp featuring a vegetal motif of three leafy branches tied together.
