ROMANO-PHRYGIAN MARBLE STELE WITH GREEK INSCRIPTION. Ca. AD 200 - 300. A marble stele carved with a single frieze of standing figures and a Greek inscription above. The relief shows adults in long himatia flanking smaller child figures, all depicted frontally with schematic facial features and grouped beneath capitals cut along the upper field. The figures occupy a plain rectangular panel with raised edges; the reverse is flat and undecorated.
