He received the title of Master Goldsmith in 1768, with the hallmark "JEB". It was established on the Pont au Change under the sign "à la ville de Leipzig" until 1785. - Its production is renowned for the quality of its jewels and its gold boxes, which were distinguished by the refinement of their translucent enamels on guilloché gold surfaces. - The Louvre Museum kept in its collections thirteen snuffboxes of the master; seven boxes are kept in the Cognacq-Jay Museum and others in various public and private collections too. -
