Lot no. 8
UNHEATED BURMA RUBY NTE 18k (750 thousandths) white gold ring presenting in a setting of new and old round brilliant diamonds of approx. 0.40 ct. each (total approx. 3.50 ct.) a very beautiful unheated red Burmese ruby of approx. 2.25 ct. of oval cushion shape with a beautiful transparency. Wear on the edges. Removal of material on the pavilion. Gemological report for the ruby by Gübelin dated 4 April 2019 nr. 19040003. Dimensions of the ruby: approx. 9.50 x 8.50 x 3.50 mm. Finger size: 58 Gross weight: 9.7 g. Gübelin's gemological report indicates a Burmese origin for Mogok. Although the situation in Burma today no longer allows access to its precious stones, this was not always the case. Throughout history, rubies and sapphires from Myanmar have ranked second in the world for their jewellery quality. On the market today, only old gems are still available. Truly red Burmese rubies are rare, and high quality rubies are even rarer! Anything over 2 ct. is an exceptional gem, and that's what we're offering here.
