RUSSIAN M1826 INFANTRY OFFICER'S SABRE WITH SCABBARD.
Ca. AD 1834. A Russian M1826 infantry officer's saber identified by an engraving on the guard as coming from St Petersburg in 1834. There is a crowned monogram on the hilt. Leather handle has wear but all wire is present. The handle fittings are gently loose, but not drastically. Scabbard features some loss of paint and gilding, as well as large crase and lose fittings. Size: 965mm x 135mm; Weight: 970g Provenance: Property of a European collector; ex. Private Belgian collection, acquired in early 1990s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
