Nikolai Nikolaevich Rutchenko (Rutych; 1916-2013) - historian and public figure. A Soviet officer, he was taken prisoner during the Great Patriotic War and became a collaborator and then a member of the NTS. The FSB's central archives contain documents which show that N.N. Rutych was an employee of the Gatchina SD during the Great Patriotic War, and that he directed and personally participated in the execution of Soviet citizens and partisans. Many leading figures in Russian emigration (S.P. Melgunov, R. Gul, etc.) considered him to be an agent of the Soviet secret services, integrated into the SD and then the NTS. He was accused of facilitating the extradition by the Allies to the Soviets of members of collaborationist groups held in prisoner-of-war camps in Italy. The publication of his book 'The CPSU in Power' in 1960 had a great impact in the West and made Rutych's name known not only among Russian emigrants, but also in large circles of the Western public. As an irreconcilable anti-Communist, the representative of the right wing of the NTS was deported to the island of Corsica when USSR prime ministers visited Paris, usually in the company of A.P. Stolypin (son of the Russian prime minister). At the buyer's request, we would be happy to provide a general condition report on the lot described above.
