This is a description of the cabinet of anatomical curiosities of Frederick Ruysch (1638-1731), the famous Dutch physician, anatomist and botanist.
"His anatomical collections were not only of scientific interest or curiosity, but also of exhibition and spectacle, as they were open to the public in order to impress colleagues and contemporaries. The Ruysch collection was the first of its kind, and this example was followed by many others throughout the eighteenth century" (L. Boer, A.B. Radzium and R. J. Oostra, "Frederick Ruysch. Historical perspective...", American Journal of Medical Genetics, Jan. 2017, pp. 16-41).
A very fine copy.
