Imperial Guard model sabre. Leather-covered handle with filigree. Brass mounting, single-branch hilt (damaged at the junction), mounts engraved with the anchor, curved quillon curved towards the tip. Curved blade with counter-edge and hollow sides engraved in cartouches "GARDE IMPERIALE" and naval anchors (pitting at the tip). Leather scabbard with three brass fittings. Length: 87 cm. Fairly good condition. Manufactured later in the 20th century, with a blade of the First Empire period. Provenance: Collection of Mr F. EXPERT: Arnaud DE GOUVION SAINT-CYR.
