DRUMMER'S SABRE MAJOR MODEL 1822 Brass mounting. Lion head pommel lion's head. Star-shaped guard with two straight with the arms of France of France (crossed out). Wooden butt covered copper watermarked leather. Curved blade with hollow sides and gutter from the Royal of Klingenthal, dated 1823. Chased brass scabbard with two hooks, three bracelets and four cartouches, one with a trophy around the drum, three with vegetal decoration and one with lion's head. Wooden splints present. One hook missing. France, Restoration period. Total length: 98 cm A giberne hanger is attached. PROVENANCE : - Roger de Montégudet collection (1880-1925) - by descent to this day.
