OFFICER'S SABRE OF THE LIGHT CAVALRY German style brass mounting. Cap with plate connecting the joint arch decorated with lines. Almond-shaped crosspiece and slightly curved quillon. Wooden spindle covered with leather with copper filigree. Fine blade with rush, carp tongue and counter-edge. The blade is engraved with a gilded trophy of arms engraved on the heel. Brass scabbard with two bracelets and suspension rings (possibly added). Wooden splints present. Consulate period.
