OFFICER'S SABRE OF THE CHASSEURS OF VINCENNES Gilt bronze mounting. Oval cap with long tail decorated and laurel wreath. Joint arch pierced for the passage for the strap to pass through. two branches forming the shell decorated of a laurel wreath on a background of four pennants and stars. Scrolled quillon with star decoration. Horn spindle, watermark missing. Straight blade with triangular cross-section by "Couleaux & Comp" in Klingenthal. Iron scabbard with two bracelets (old repair). France, Second Empire period. PROVENANCE : - Roger de Montégudet collection (1880-1925) - by descent to this day. Total length: 99cm
