OFFICER'S SABRE OF THE IInd REGIMENT OF HUNTERS Cut iron mounting. Cap oval with two arches connected by a branch joining the plate. Curved plate tail. Wooden spindle covered in leather with double iron filigree. Long blade by Couleau, slightly curved with hollow sides and gutter, blued, chased and gilded on one half. It is engraved on the heel in a cartouche "Coulaux frères", "Manuf Impériale du Klingenthal", on the plate "2e REGIMENT De CHASSEURS A CHEVAL 1673" hunting horn and trophies, "BONAPARTE PREMIER CONSUL De La République française 30 termidor. an.10" and imperial eagle under crown. Iron scabbard sheathed in cut brass with four hollows. Iron cap and dart (partial hallmark), two suspension rings. France, First Empire period. Total length: 104 cm PROVENANCE : - Roger de Montégudet collection (1880-1925) - by descent to this day.
