Russian Light Cavalry Officer's sabre. Basane-covered handle with watermark. Copper-plated brass mounting. Long-tailed cap surmounted by a lion's head. Single-branch hilt with auricles and scrolled quillon. Stamped "PPW" crowned on one of the mounts. Curved, flat-backed blade marked in Cyrillic (Tiflis) and dated 1802, with a double-headed eagle on one side and "AI" (Alexander I Tsar) on the other, and a shield-shaped hallmark. Leather-covered scabbard with three copper-plated brass fittings, line-decorated. Iron sting. With two-tone gold and red lanyard (composite, wear, leather repairs).
