VOLUNTEER OFFICER'S SABRE CAVALRY Montmorency style gilt brass mounting. Long-tailed cap with lion's head. Joint arch forming the openwork plate, from which stand out two branches the shell decorated with a soldier in armour on a background of trophies of arms (period repair). Wooden spindle covered with a double copper filigree in copper. Old regime curved blade with flat back and counter-edge. It is engraved with a radiant sun and a Turk's head. Formerly engraved on the first half then erased, two crescent moons remain. France, Revolution and Ancien Régime period. Total length: 103 cm An invoice dated 1903 for an antique an antique sabre. PROVENANCE : - Roger de Montégudet collection (1880-1925) - by descent to this day.
