9th CENTURY HORSE HUNTER SABRE Brass mounting, tiny remains of silver plating and ebony. Lion head cap, joint arch decorated with lines and quillon in the shape of a drop. Keyboard with the number 9 on shield, imperial eagle and hunting horn and hunting horn. Squared ebony spindle (crack). Solingen blade with hollow sides, carp tongue and counter-edge. It is engraved on the fifth with trophies, flowers and a shining sun. Scabbard with two bracelets and gilt brass suspension rings with four cartouches in high relief on a background. They represent a sumptuous trophy in antique style, a woman reading to a boy to a boy (reported), an allegory of dancing of dancing and a representation of a rider at a bivouac. All decorated with geometric friezes. End decorated with palms, brass in brass. Inner side entirely bordered with geometric friezes. Antique scabbard. First Empire period. Total length: 100.5 cm PROVENANCE : - Roger de Montégudet collection (1880-1925) - by descent to this day.
