Johann Christoph Dreyhaupt (1699-1768) was a lawyer and historian. He held numerous high offices in his home town of Halle, such as Schultheißen and Salzgrafen, and is the author of the two-volume work Beschreibung des Saalkreises, a comprehensive and regionally historically significant treatise on the city of Halle and its surrounding area.
