Holstein Dutch, 9-43 - After Marten de Vos. - Johannes Sadeler I's engravings depict various scenes from the Book of Genesis from the Old Testament in 15 technically impressive images. The engravings are particularly impressive due to their high-contrast and detailed depictions of landscapes, animals and people. - Johannes Sadeler I was an important Flemish engraver and was followed by his brother and their sons in the art of engraving. - Trimmed to the platemark. Partly handled and stained. Sheet 1 with heavier soiling. Partially with repairs on verso. The colours strong and the contrasts excellent. Overall a very fine and rare series.
