Saint John Large carved and polychromed wooden sculpture. Romanesque. 13th century. Monumental sculpture, the lower part is missing. The saint faces forward with his hands crossed, holding the book of the Holy Scriptures, wearing a tunic and cape which hangs from his left shoulder. Magnificent sculptural work on the head, which has beautiful facial features – a long, fine nose, almond shaped eyes and elaborate hair which forms waves in the fringe and at the back. 120 x 45 x 24 cm.
