Binding very worn, rubbed, headbands torn off, jaws partly split, corners dull... Copy illustrated with unsigned vignettes and culs-de-lampe and enriched here with a suite of engravings (a frontispiece and 58 plates out of text) by Claude Gillot (1673-1722), Watteau's master, added a posteriori. Brown stains to frontispiece, worm damage to first pages and plates. Some foxing and browning.
