Abundant engraved intaglio illustrations including 26 frontispieces and 612 plates of views and maps, most of them folding. The work was first published in English between 1725 and 1739. Extremely rare as complete. The second part of volume XX (Italia) is missing; some plates are missing or damaged. Minor mishaps and worm holes in bindings, wetness, some traces of mould and scattered foxing, minor paper repairs. The last two volumes come from another copy bound in contemporary vellum.
