The "love of nature" is evident in the landscaped gardens and orangeries of the lavishly laid out palace complexes of European royal courts, which served not least as a means of representation. The courts also cultivated vineyards and cultivated orchards. The interest in nature was reflected on Meissen porcelain tableware in the form of tree-lined landscapes in cotton wool scenes or in the figures of gardeners, shepherds and winegrowers. Johann Joachim Kaendler (1706 - 1775) and his co-worker Michel Victor Acier (1736 - 1799) created various series of gardeners' children.
