Very rare Belgian edition, published shortly after the serial appearance of the novel in the Revue des Deux Mondes and in the same year as the original Parisian edition. Autograph signed letter from Aurore Sand: to W. V. Archawski, this book I love, dated 1958. Aurore Sand (1866-1961) devoted much of her life to preserving and promoting the literary heritage of her grandmother. A very nice copy despite a few rare brown spots.
