First edition. The first three letters were written in Venice after Musset's departure and are addressed to him. Letter X relates the expedition to Switzerland and the meeting with Marie d'Agoult and Liszt, to whom letter VII is addressed. The two volumes form volumes XV and XVI of the complete works of George Sand. A very fine copy with ornamented blue covers, from the library of Eugène Richtenberger (Cat., 1921, n° 513) - Titles trimmed at the outer margin.
