SAND George. Lettres d'un voyageur. Paris, Félix Bonnaire, 1837; 2 vol. in-8 of [4]-422 pp. ; [4]-414 pp. half taupe calf with small corners, gilt fillet, spines decorated with gilt and cold motifs, green and black parts, gilt heads, covers and spine (Thierry Sr de Petit-Simier). First edition. The first three letters were written in Venice after Musset's departure and are addressed to him. Letter X relates the expedition to Switzerland and the meeting with Marie d'Agoult and Liszt, to whom letter VII is addressed. The two volumes form volumes XV and XVI of the complete works of George Sand. A very fine copy with ornamented blue covers, from the library of Eugène Richtenberger (Cat., 1921, n° 513) - Titles trimmed at the outer margin.
