Note
His training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and the School of Decorative Arts in Paris gave Sarkis Katchadourian a wide range of artistic expression. Internationally renowned, he is particularly famous for his reconstructions of Persian and Indian frescoes, a series of which was acquired by the Musée Guimet, before being deposited with the National Gallery of Armenia in 1971. His work has been the subject of numerous exhibitions in the Middle East, Europe and the United States. Living in Paris with his wife Vava, who was also a painter, he died suddenly in 1947 after a botched operation.
