SASANIAN BOAT SHAPED SILVER SHALLOW BOWL Ca. AD 200 - 600. A Sassanian bowl of lustrous silver hues with an elliptical form. The vessel is embellished with protruding dots on the internal surface.The ovoid vessel features a larger elongated form with a deep centre that elegantly shallows near each end. This was most likely to allow for the pouring of liquids. For similar see: MET Museum Accession Number: 67.202. Size: 210mm x 50mm; Weight: 330g. Provenance: Property of a West London gentleman; previously in a collection formed on the UK/International art market in the 1990s.
