Good condition, oxidation on the edges, partial wear in the silvering, fragility of the colour in the blue background. 49.7 x 29.6 cm. Printed by: "G.De. Andreis Sampierdarena-Italy". In 1850, a candle factory was set up in the middle of the Marseille countryside. Around 1856, part of the candle factory was transformed into a full-fledged soap factory. In 1953, the brand merged with Huileries Antonin Roux and Savonnerie J.B. Paul to become the Fer à Cheval brand, marking the beginning of a wonderful adventure.in 1974, the Savonnerie Marseillaise was bought by the Salvador group, which went on to produce the famous Savon de Marseille Le Chat for many years.in 2003, the Compagnie des Détergents et du Savon de Marseille was bought by the Seghin family.(source: savon-de-marseille.com)
