SCHULLER IN PARIS, GILT BRONZE GRANDFATHER CLOCK, DEPICTING THE ALLEGORY TO THE ARTS, FRANCE CIRCA 1830 An elegant gilt and chased bronze support clock, depicting the Glory of the Arts. Set on a plinth base, richly decorated, the sculptural group reveals a winged genius crowning with fame the bust of a philosopher, the Thinker par excellence, surrounded by the symbols of the Arts. White enamel dial in the vieux maniere manner, with Roman numerals, burnished metal hands in the Breguet manner, movement protected by glass cover, with hour and half-hour strike on bell, silk-wire suspension, movement to be overhauled, pendulum and winding key absent.
